As time goes by, the policy of the government and social services is to support elderly people living independently in their own homes for as long as possible. The alternative is residential care within a fully equipped nursing home.

Select Security Systems are able to Design, Install and Maintain systems of any size from a personal Homelink Social Core Alarm which can be installed within a post operative or elderly person's own property, up to a fully networked Addressable Nursecall System within a prestigious nursing home or hospital.

The Homelink emergency calling unit can be connected to any telephone line and provides an emergency link to a monitoring service who can summon help. In the event of an emergency the user activates the Homelink alarm via a neck worn pendant or wristband radio transmitter, The unit will then dial the monitoring station, it will then display the unit identification code together with the alarm details. The operator can answer the call and speak with the caller to establish the nature of the problem. The Homelink's integral microphone is very sensitive and can pick up sounds quite distant from the device guaranteeing communication with the user if they are a distance away from the unit.

Nursing Home and Hospital environments require a far more comprehensive system for which we can supply and install an addressable Nursecall system which consists of a main control panel and additional call repeaters sited around the building. Calls can be made from a variety of devices including tail call leads, ceiling pull cords and pressure pads, each designed to suit different levels of patient dexterity. Once triggered, calls are reset at the room from which they were made via a button or magnetic reset key.

A confidence light on the bedhead reassures patients that calls have been registered, and for those patients prone to wander, door monitoring points and portable movement detectors can be used to provide added protection.

Additional features include a built in data logger recording date, time and call type. Where required an additional data analysis software can be supplied to run on a desktop PC. In addition a paging facility for careers on the move can be setup. We can install a system to satisfy the most stringent requirements.
